Coalition to host press conference announcing upcoming conference on The Abuse of State Power

A coalition of organizations will hold a press conference Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:00 am, on the steps of the Old Guilford County Courthouse (across from the Federal Building in downtown Greensboro), to address local events and occurrences which led to the formation of a one-day summit entitled “Our Responsibility to Oppose the Abuse of State Power – Moving Towards a More Humane Society.” This one-day summit will take place on Saturday, April 28th, 2012, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at Dynacom Event Center, 2100 E. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC. It is free and open to the community.

March on Reynolds Shareholders Meeting: May 3, 2012

Join us in Winston Salem on May 3 as we rally and march for justice for tobacco farmworkers! For over 4 years FLOC has asked Reynolds American to meet with the farmworkers who harvest their tobacco to discuss how to put an end to the human rights abuses occurring in NC tobacco fields. While Reynolds continues business as usual, farmworkers continue to suffer from dangerous and inhumane working and living conditions.

NC NAACP and Religious Leaders to Announce the Statewide 1000 Churches, Temples and Mosques - 100% Voter Registration Campaign

Greensboro, NC -- On the eve of the 44th anniversary of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the president of the North Carolina NAACP State Conference, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II was joined by local faith leaders to announce the state-wide 1000 Churches, Temples and Mosques - 100% Voter Registration Campaign.
