Commemoration of the 45th Anniversary of the Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

April 4, 2013 will mark the 45th Anniversary of April 4th, a date known to most as the day Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated.

The Beloved Community Center will host a citywide meeting on that day [April 4, 2013] to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. King by continuing in his spirit, to stand against the injustices of today, particularly as it relates to the corruption and double standards within the Greensboro Police Department.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at the Greensboro Historical Museum, 130 Summit Avenue, to begin a process of organizing citizens to engage and dismantle the corrupt, dangerous police subculture that is prevalent in our GPD.
