Greensboro Moral Monday — June 3rd

With deep appreciation to Rev. Dr. William Barber, President of the State Branches of the NAACP and HKonJ of which many of us are a part, a group of citizens and organizations in Greensboro have agreed to organize to send a large delegation to Raleigh to participate in non-violent civil disobedience or to observe as moral witnesses.

What is happening in our state General Assembly is a moral outrage!  This cannot be allowed to happen in the dark.  It is very important that we respond in large numbers.   We emphasize nonviolence, as everything will be done in a respectful, nonviolent manner.  Our moral duty is to shine the light on these hurtful policies and laws to help others see and understand the impact on their lives and the lives of their neighbors.

Nelson Johnson spoke to a group of young men from the African American Male Leadership Summit of the Beta Epsilon Boulé, on March 14 at the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, about their experiences from the civil rights movement in Greensboro.
